Schedule of Events

Skating Information

All skates begin at the top of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (east side). There will be a rest stop on each skate. 

You must sign a waiver prior to participation in the skates. Waivers will be distributed before the Friday 7 pm and Saturday 10 am skates at the hotel and at the art museum. You will also receive a registration packet with details about the evening venues at this time.

 
Day Description

Friday

3:00 pm: Get It Rolling Skate, 10 miles, led by Rocco.  A little East, West, and South, featuring the Crescent Trail, South Philly and Chinatown at a relaxed pace. 

7:00 pm: Five Square Skate, 12 miles, led by Doug.  Hopscotching the five foundational squares of Center City and every alley, tunnel, and subway in between.


Evening
Post-Skate: Kite and Key, 1836 Callowhill Street.  From the hotel 2 blocks North on 17th Street and 1 block West (left) on Callowhill Street. Pub fare, with indoor & outdoor seating.  No Skates.  Make everyone’s life easier: pay with cash!


Saturday

10:00 am: Everything Old Is New Again Skate, 19 miles, some hills, led by Eric.  A big looping tour of Philly featuring re-purposed shipyard and historic botanical gardens. 


4:00 pm: Scenic Skate, 12 miles led by Christophe.  Exploring the tree-lined streets of West Philly through Clark Park and beyond. 



Evening: Post-Skate: Tir Na Nog
, 1600 Arch St. (entrance at 16th St. & Cuthbert). Irish gastropub fare & craft beers. We have indoor dining space reserved under “Philly Free Skate.” Outdoor seating is first come, first served. No Skates. Make everyone’s life easier: pay with cash!


Sunday 10:00 am: Pierless City Skate, 12 miles, led by Pete.  Wrapping it up through downtown Philly with a swing along the Delaware.  Back at the hotel to accommodate 1 pm late checkout.
